Barriers to employment in severe mental illness

Nurs Times. 2007;103(22):32-3.

Abstract

This article explores two issues related to the barriers to employment for people with severe mental illness: the mental health service user's perspective; and the efficacy of mental health nurses and community mental health teams. It suggests that clinical practice needs to be modified and further research carried out if these barriers are to be removed.
